Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the region, generating strong winds topping over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Broad Damage
Residents reported large ice chunks as large as 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the widespread outages.
Victorian Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also encountered power outages after Melbourne experienced its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams received nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both states.
Health Warning
Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the state.
